My father knew Valachie as a kid he lived in the Iron Place they collected old scrap iron, He lived in there horse barn on 107 street in Italian Harlem between first and the river. He was just a kid then and lived in the Iron place horse barn. He lived among the horses and 5 million rats no wonder he became a rat himself. I would go into that same horse barn as a kid after the horses left the barn, and for fun I would shoot the rats. True story
