WHY WAS THIS MOVIE NOT RELEASED IN THE US???

Man that wizzes me off. My own mother knew about this movie even before I did and I know pretty much everything there is 2 know about the mob heck she's even seen it and remembered the late great Charles Bronson was in it. I have read the book and want to see the movie VERY VERY VERY Badly but I have no idea where to get it. I've tried amazon.com and they don't even have a listing of the movie at all. If anyone knows where to buy it please post a reply and tell me! Thanks alot.

Heads up, it's currently on Crackle (online and also thru various smart TV's and Roku-like devices) http://www.crackle.com/c/the-valachi-papers

It's in the 16:9 aspect ration without pan and scan (thankfully) but is a piss poor umpteenth generation print with muddy sound to match. This makes the dubbed dialogue that much worse, and when you notice the World Trade Center Towers under construction and all the modern cars in the background it takes on a real cheesy low budget spaghetti western feel.

It's showing right now on the MOVIES channel as part of a Charles Bronson double feature---they just showed this and another good Bronson action flick I'd never heard of called BREAKOUT.

Its on You Tube but things come and go on there.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else

Why this thread is 11 years old... Crazy. I remember commenting on this while in.my class room. Its on Dvd since 2009 in.uk, great qaulity but no real proper release. Someone like Arrow need to pick it up.

Huh?

It was very released much here. I first heard of it from giant double-truck (two full pages) ads in the L.A. Times. Couldn’t see it cuz it was R and I was 11.

However, you are right that it was never released on home video. There are so many major films from the 70’s that you STILL can’t see in any quality that I may write a book: Two Hundred Films From the 70’s You Can’t See. This title would appear in Chapter One.
