Quote from Robert Kennedy at the beginning

I think it goes something like, "Crime is a matter of criminals. It is not a matter of race, color, or creed." I may not have it exactly right, but I think that's the general gist of it.

Does anyone know where this quote comes from? Was it from a speech or a book by Bobby Kennedy? I have to admit that I'm not very well-versed on his writings, and I haven't been able to find it.

Just watched this film on Crackle and also noticed that supposed RFK quote. Couldn't find anything on the interwebs that attributed the actual source, just references to the movie having included it.

I've read reports that there were protests against this movie from various Italian-American groups for defamation. At that time there was a strong push to put lipstick on the prosciutto of the general public's association of a certain Sicilian "association" and my fellow spaghetti benders. There were also rumors that the production moved to Rome (from NYC) after threats from the above non-named organization. Who knows for sure, I ain't talking and you had better dummy up too, capish?

Anyway, the reason I wasted your time by having you read the above is either (or both) of the items may have been the impetus to include that quotation in an attempt to soothe any ruffled feathers. Below is the verbatim quote which I just copied from the movie.

"Crime is a question of criminals it is not a matter of race, color, or religion"

Funny, hearing that from Robert Kennedy. His father made his fortune off illegal liquor. JFK was on illegal drugs and cheated on his wife. They lobotomized a family member and stuffed her into an asylum her entire life. No wonder they were both shot.
