This movie is irksome.


More irritating than any movie has a right to be.

And Melvyn DOuglas as someone else's dad again, as the 70s required.

Irritating? Why´s that? I think it´s a rather effective satire. And the fact that it´s the democrat that won the elections is pretty much beside the point here.

As for the remark about Douglas "played someone´s else´s dad again", that´s downright incomprehensible. For one thing, he was definitely too old to play "someone else´s" son (although he sort of did that in The Changeling).

it's good. better than most. but it hedges its bets in some places, the same thing it claims it's satirizing.

Seeing that Melvyn Douglas was in his 70s during the '70s, what sort of part would you expect him to play? Somebody's son?
