Underappreciated movie

In my opinion this is one of those great movies that hardly anyone has ever seen. I loved the way the took the qualities that made it play and put them into the movie. It has that stage quality to it that a lot of movies can't carry off. Small cast, few places, but a big story with a lot of heart. Goldie Hawn at her finest if you ask me. I highly recommend people giving this movie a fair chance.

Goldie is simply radiant - and if it is true that beauty without youth does not avail, this filmstock was put to wonderful use.

I am a big fan of this movie, and so is my mother. It's simple. Nothing complicated about the shooting, very little characters (but very well played) and wonderful lines.
"I could absolutely cry" that only 500-and-somethig people bothered to rate this movie. It's a shame.
It deserves more than a 10 rating. :))

I agree...this is definitely an underated movie. I remember catching the end of the movie on TV long time ago, and was moved enough to want to rent it and watch it in its entirety. Only recently was I able to rent the movie, and that was through Blockbuster online because our small-town video store overlooks a lot of great movies, such as this one. People need to realize just because it's not a big-name movie that doesn't mean it's not a quality movie.

I agree that the film is a great showcase for Goldie Hawn and somehow they did manage to make the film not look like a photographed staged play, which happens a lot when plays are transferred to film. The film looks like a film, not a play on film.

Just watched this movie for the first time yesterday. I expected nothing more than a dated and trite piece of fluff. Instead, I found this movie to be very poignant and (except for the mod hippie sets and costumes) still relevant. Very good performances by all. A bit claustrophobic at times, but definately worth checking out.

I agree.. I wasn't born yet when this movie came out, so the most recent Goldie Hawn movie I had ever seen was "Overboard". If this is an example of her earlier work, no wonder she ultimately became such a star. Great flick...

I love it, and have put it on my list as one of my favorite 70s movies. I still have it recorded on VHS and rewatch it periodically.

Agreed, very well put together. I guess they don't make 'em like this now. The 70s really seems like a decade of hidden film gems. Discovered Paper Moon last night and then this today. Yeah, just great!
