Did the writers borrow from Dark Shadows?

An aristocratic man has a curse of vampirism put upon him. He is locked in his coffin for well over a hundred years and accidentally let loose in present day America. He seeks his lost love and finds a likeness who he believes is the reincarnation of this woman only to lose her again. This is the plot summary for Barnabas Collins and for Blacula.

It's also the same plot as the original Mummy and countless others.

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

Both characters and stories are great.

The Mummy was never a vampire though

Are you trying to say that because this movie was made by black people, they don't have the ability to come up with a story on their own and have to resort to stealing other movie ideas?
