'His bite was outta sight!'
This movie was considered bad for its time, but its very watchable. A better 82 minutes spent than with 95% of films made today.

shareBlacula is better than 95% of films made today? Yeah, okay man.
It's way better than Twilight and all the other crap they call Vampire movies these days. Solid acting and some good plot.

It's not though. When you put blind internet hatred aside, the Twilight films are average-at-best fare. Blacula is in that same category, only it's cooler.

Just a bit contradictory.
IMO these films run circles around Twilight for one simple reason - William Marshall.
No one, no one in any of the Twilight films could even come close to his acting {even on a bad day}.

It being cooler doesn't mean it's better. And I'm sorry, but your posts are just dripping with bias. William Marshall was good but please don't try and make an argument that he's somehow so much better than the likes of Michael Sheen and Dakota Fanning.
You're being extremely biased and subjective so it's hard to take your opinion seriously. We get it, you hate Twilight. But you can't let those blinders bleed into logic and rational thinking.

You are not really comparing Dakota Fanning, a child at the time, to a great actor/producer that was trained in Broadway and Theater. William Marshall.
You are not really putting the likes of Dakota Fanning, a child at the time, next to another great actor that was also trained in Broadway and Theater and say they can act on the same level. Michael Sheen.
-- We get it, you hate Twilight. --
No you get it, don't speak for everyone, who exactly is we.
Dakota Fanning - you have got to be kidding me, seriously what kind of acting does it take to stare at someone and say "Pain", or turn around and run away.
I own all the movies/books. Some jewelry and an Edward T-shirt, hence I don't hate Twilight - I can just see its a stupid set of films that has its good points yes, eye candy and that is about it. Also for the record I was Team Edward.
Do not act as though you know someone when you don't.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that you've literally never seen Dakota Fanning in any movie. That's the only conclusion I can draw based on your scathing remarks about her.
If we're only going by the Blacula and Twilight films, William Marshall's performances were good, the best part of those movies. Those performances were also pretty comparable to those of Dakota Fanning. Maybe if Marshall had a better career and was given a real chance to flash his acting chops I'd agree with you that he was way better, but as it stands I don't think he is.
Oh, and I'm Team Edward as well. Jacob was a scrub. 😉

Go back and read what I said and think about it a wee bit.

My point is, she never had theatrical training and it shows against those who have, in time she will grow as an actress but now - she isn't showing her potential. Her type of acting, she should have begun on stage.
-- Jacob was a scrub. --
No, he was a mongrel.

Being a stage actor doesn't automatically make someone a better actor in film than someone who's not. In my humble opinion Dakota Fanning's performances in the Twilight series are on par with the performances William Marshall turned in on the Blacula films. And her performances in films such as Hide and Seek and Man on Fire surpass them. So naturally I'm going to bring her into the conversation regardless of her lack of theater training.
Of course, I've only ever seen William Marshall in the Blacula films so he may have given some sensational performances in other things so I don't know. But looking through his filmography it's hard not to assume that he didn't.
