How does everyone feel about Ben being homicidal? I mean in Willard he was a menacing murderer. Soooo, in Ben he's cute and cuddly? How does that make this movie touching? I suppose not many saw Willard. Opinions?

shareBen's not cute in this movie. He manipulates the boy to save him and the other rats. Furthermore he's the pack leader and responsible for several evil acts.
But you're right, Ben's much cuter than Willard. Peer group kiddies.
The divinity laughed.
Considering the time period that Ben was made... and when Willard came out a couple of decades later... it makes perfect sense to me.
A lot of the old "B" movies tried for the happy ending or the lovable villain...
Frankly, I liked Ben a lot better than Willard.
If you noticed, Danny was the only person Ben was nice to. He considered Danny to be his friend. I think he saw the same qualities in Danny that he liked in Willard, so having Danny as a friend brought out his good side.
Come, fly the teeth of the wind. Share my wings.
