Inspiration for film?

Hi Everyone,
I have not seen this film, but I am an avid Michael Jackson fan and I know of his song "Ben." Does anyone know if Michael had anything to do with the making of this movie, or did he just contribute the song?
Thanks for your help.

He just contributed the song. The movie is a sequal to the movie/book Willard, Ben being a rat from the original story. Gilbert Ralston created Ben and the whole Willard deal.

Gilbert Ralston wrote Ben and the screenplay for Willard which was based on the book "Ratman's Notebooks" by Stephen Gilbert (a different person).

Stephen Gilbert and Gilbert Ralston are two different people.

I still watch mine on an old VHS tape that I ordered on Amazon a couple years ago. I'm lucky I ordered when I did. It was about $15 when I ordered it but it costs a lot more now.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.
