When did this come out on DVD, and where can I find it ???

Been looking for it for awhile, to no avial. I did find it a few yrs. back on one of those $1 DVD's and the video is not good at all, unfortunately. I'm wondering why they even bother making grade C or D reproductions of any movies (?). I only got it bec. it's the only one I ever found (on DVD). If any of ya'll know where I can find this one, please share, and thanks!!

There's a region 2 version that looks the best at this current time. You need a region free player or use decrypter and your PC and make your own region free copy. Still looks like ass.

Best advice: wait for a restore version. After Burton's major haul there is certainly reason to do so. Hell, a BluRay isn't really out of the question at this point.

it was $5.50 and I'm glad I didn't have to pay anymore for it than that-------unfortunately. This '72 version needs to be restored, big time. I'm not sure why they did not do this (from the orig.) film footage (?). The video is just not of good quality at all. In the past couple of wks., I've found and purchased the 1985 version, and the 1999 (made for t.v.). I already had the 1951 Disney animated DVD. This version ('72) is the only one that is not of excellent quality (audio/video). It's a British prod., but still no excuses here. What a shame, truly. I liked it overall----------but did not see enough of the Cheshire Cat (one of my favorite characters in the story); and the last song/dance sequence was WAY too long. But, it's most likely the worst version ever made, IMHO. I've not seen the 1903 nor the 1933 versions, but hope they're better than this one.

Anyone know why they did not restore it for a better/quality transfer of the orig.?? Just curious.
