shareI think that you already know the answer to that. The Walton's and a lot of other television shows back in the 1970's were already politically correct in their content. Look at how the family received Toni who was Jewish. Of course it helped that the stern women in the family namely Esther and Olivia were already written out of the show as they would have readily objected to that. John on the show would say live and let live even if a real mountain man Virginian would not.
