The one where John Boy was teaching that older lady how to read and Elizabeth let it slip and word got out and poor John Boy got the blame. She apologized in the end, but poor John Boy took the rap for a lot of stuff he didn't do. That seemed to happen to him a lot.

Mine is probably The Conflict where the Waltons try to support "Old Family" living in the mountains in their bid to hold on to their land vs. highway development. Very nice filming location (still it's not Central Virginia), great guest performances, especially by Beulah Bondi ("Mom" in It's a Wonderful Life), a real inner-family conflict between the younger and family, and especially between John-Boy and Grandpa Walton. For me it's the very best, most memorable episode of the series, although of course there are several others that come close...

So many favorites. I like best Mary Ellen's wedding and the birth of her baby, the Pearl Harbor episode, John Boy's first visit home after he moves to New York, Grandpa's heart attack, the fire episode with the Baldwins wanting to adopt Jason.

A lot of fans dislike "The Changeling" episode, but it was one of my favorites. Strange things happened in the Walton home as Elizabeth approached her thirteenth birthday. I think I liked that episode because I was the same age when I first saw it.
