carradine is now the opposite of what he played in the kung fu series

he is rude,unfriendly,greedy and selfish
in kung fu he plays a character who is the opposite to all these things

has carradine always been like that or is it just the he has gotten rude with age? i thaught after playing kung fu all these years he should have learned a thing or two about how to behave in life (i certaintly learned a lot from this series)...

Where does this bad talk come from? I haven't read anything bad about him. People say he is greedy and screwed Bruce out of it and he wanted money and all this but take a look at his filmography. He obviously goes for movies that appeal to him, I haven't heard of most of those films, since Kung Fu his biggest movie has been Kill Bill, I don't think he does care about money.

Carradine has said in an interview that he is totally unlike the character he played in Kung Fu. Sorry that I can't tell you exactly when the interview took place... I read it in a magazine years ago... Carradine has also been quoted as saying that during the time Kung Fu was filmed he was heavily into hallucinogenic drugs. I don't consider this "bad talk," it's just the way he is/was.

keywords "plays a character" I don't know if he is any of the things you described Ihave never met the man. But I have read his autbiography "Endless Highway" and he is not Caine in real life. If he was out for wealth I don't think he would have done as many underground B movies.

I haven't read the "Endless Highway" auto-bio but I read "Spirit of Shaolin." In it, Carradine says it the show's producers who chose him over Bruce Lee,..Carradine didn't have any part in a plot to eliminate bruce from the role. There were too many crazy people in hollywood & America in general who didn't like orientals so Carradine trumped Bruce becuase business wise, bruce lee was a risk.

I agree with you 100%,i just got through watching that special segment and David just floored me with his comments. He totally depressed the h ell outta me with what he said. You can tell there was friction in the room and poor Rademas Pera, who sounded like he was very proud of his role in 'Kung Fu' seemed uncomfortable with alota stuff Carradine said.No one even talked about Keye Luke or Philip Ahn which i felt was b.s.Also when asked how it was working with his father the late great 'John Carradine' and his half bros. Keith and Robert Carradine and he kinda brushed off the question.Myself being a fan of the Kung Fu show since I was 10'I'm 31 now' David seriously caved in what was a special TV show to me.

Well, I guess that makes him a great actor.

For the DVD commentary, he went to China with producers and went to the Shaolin temple, the Great Wall etc, in winter. He could have easily said no.
He has also written a book "Spirit of Shaolin." as someone else mentioned, and has a few exercise videos, based on martial arts.

He may not go around in bare feet, and talk slowly, but he has a profound respect for the character and what he represented, that's good enough for me.

Everything is always trying to become what it is not, in an endless cycle.

So perhaps in this way Carradine is still embodying taoist principles, don'tcha think?

Did you get pissed at Christopher Reeves for being paralyzed after riding a horse? You know, the guy played Superman. And Superman would never get hurt from riding a horse.
