Was season one released anywhere in un-cropped (original 4:3) format?

Just noticed that it's airing on one of the CBS channels in my part of the world, so I'll record it to DVD off that. I assume they are airing it in 4:3.

I was wrong. They are airing the cropped/16:9 version.

Crazy :(
