I loved the scene in the pilot movie where Caine gets a beer at a bar,..

and remains calm all throughout a scene where a man is
assaulting him, including with a knife. And then at one point,
Caine kicks the man's knife into the ceiling!

I just watched the show, He got a glass of water and poured a pouch of some kind of powder? ( dried tea?)in it then drank it while fighting the guy.

It wasn't tea in the normal sense it was dried herbs Caine was taking to enhance his chi. He is often seen adding herbs to his water, unlike real life where he smoked most of the herbs he ingested!
