Why does Caine have shoes if he always walks barefoot?
I've never understood this. He's always seen carrying those shoes yet he never wears them. It doesn't make any sense really. Why would you carry them around and never wear them? And is it ever explained why Caine always walks barefoot?

It's extremely rare when he wears them. That photo looks like it's from early on in season 1. I've been re-watching the series and I've never noticed him wearing those shoes yet he always has them hanging from his bag.
shareSimple: he only has the one pair of boots so he only uses them when it's really necessary. I've always thought David must have had really tough feet, some of the surfaces he walked on barefoot!

I always just assumed that he had them in case he needed them. He just very rarely needed them. He grew up barefoot, I guess he just has leathery feet.
