Junk And Garbage All Over The Place

This was one of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid, but I couldn't get over how much junk and garbage there was for scenery. Their clubhouse was even in a junk yard.

The more I study it, the greater the puzzle becomes.

They used those pieces of junk to make their musical instruments and sports equipment (I remember seeing Russell using an old birdcage as a catcher's mask). So, in essence, they were the first recyclers.
