Now That's Dedication!

I've reached season three and noticed something cool in the trivia for episode 6 "Snakebite"

The storyline involves Paramedic Johnny Gage getting bit by a rattlesnake whilst on a call, but the remarkable thing is that they used a real snake(with the venom removed) that actually bit the actor!

from IMDB trivia:

The snake in this episode's titular scene is a real rattlesnake.

The original script called for Chet to get bit by the snake. But, producers looked it over and decided that either Roy & John should get bitten. Things went back and forth, finally they decided on Johnny. Randy was bitten for real, and it did hurt him, though the snake had no venom. Sharp listeners can even hear Randy's legitimate pain response under his breath saying "Damn it."

Now that's some dedication to your craft!

I got to see this episode now! I had my eye on checking this show out for a while.

It was pretty much my very first "favorite show" as a nine-year-old in the fall of 1975 when it was paired with "S.W.A.T." on Saturday nights! I'd seen a few episodes here and there in recent years on MeTV and such, but finally got the DVD box set and have been working my way through...

I like a lot of old TV shows. They seem easier to watch since each episode are a contained, individual story instead of long, ongoing plot lines.
