Jerry Robinson Retires

Anyone remember the ep where Jerry retires and is whittling a stick in Bob's ofc and talking about something that happened, oh... back 2 YEAR ago...? Too funny -I don't think that one is in the current dvd collection. It was one of my favorites. I do wish they would release the remainder of the series. It's been such a genuine pleasure to revisit with old friends, Bob, Emily, Howard, Jerry, Carol, Mr. Carlin and all the gang. What a great show!

I went to CHI in June and found Bob's apartment and office and his sculpted likeness down at the Navy Pier. So much fun for us feeble-minded types.

Man, I haven't seen it in a long time, but didn't Jerry win some money or inherit some, or something like that? that's why he "retired."

Thanks. A little Web research proves you to be correct about the investment windfall that leads to 'Jerry's Retirement'. I recently saw an Andy Griffith episode, 'Howard's New Life', wherein Howard (Sprague) retires to a Pacific island - and regrets it. Reminded me of Bob's version of the premature retirement idea. It is just one more classic episode in a classic series.

I remember the Andy Griffith show you mentioned. Howard goes to Jamaica, or something like that, and just spends time sitting in his hammock and watching the old men rot away at the local store or something like that. They all had the great idea to retire there, and all just sat around, wasting away, basically. I think Bob Newhart's was funnier!
