I find it quite spooky the cast all died at two-year intervals - John in 2007, Wendy and Mollie in 2009, Trevor in 2011, Frank in 2013 and Nicholas in 2015.

RIP Nicholas Smith - the last of the original AYBS? cast has gone to that great department store in the sky.

That is creepy!
It is sad when the stars of the shows you watched start passing due to old age.
Makes you realize how quickly time does fly!

What a sad day and end of an era. Spooky thing is that I googled him on the 5th to see what he's been up too.

Mike Berry (Mr Spooner) is still alive and was part of the main cast (gents/women's departments) for 3 seasons. But with the ones that started with the first year, Mr Rumbold was the last.

Yes it's a very sad day today for all "Are You Being Served?" fans worldwide with the passing of its last original main cast member Nicholas Smith. Thanks to him and all the wonderful cast now gone for all of the so many laughs and magnificent memories they gave us. Thankfully we have all the episodes of the original series and its sequel plus the movie left behind to view, enjoy, revel in and comfort us. What a legacy!

How strange, I was only thinking the other day that he was the last of the original line-up. It's bittersweet watching the group scenes in the show, seeing everyone having a good time.

At least we know they all enjoyed doing the show together and were friends after. What a privilege to keep people laughing after you die!

you've all done very well! Seriously, thanks for the memories.

That IS a tasty burger!

I'm sure they buried him in a big coffin to get those ears to fit.
