This new show is supposedly set directly after the original AYBS, so it should be Mr Spooner, but I otherwise agree.

I may be being unfair, the guy could be a very funny performer--but it just looks like today's usual 'gotta have a token in the cast'.

I thought Mr. Spooner left Grace Brothers to become a pop star 

I have a feeling the reboot may be doing a retrofit to sort of cancel out the Spooner years.

And it's true that if it's set after the original ended, Mr Grainger shouldn't be there either.
