I have not seen this and I have a question. Very often, the Hammer films featured a strong protagonist (eg: Van Helsing, Captain Kronos) going up against a terrible figure of evil... is this such in VC? Does anyone in particular rise to the occasion to slug it out with the forces of the undead?

I saw this film for the first time last night, and thought it was quite good, yes there is a protagonist you'll have to watch it though.
The protagonists (the Doctor and the Schoolteacher) are very strong but the antagonists not so much, especially in the case of the Count, although Adrienne Corri is a great antagonist.
