Tech Flaw
Why didn't Huey, Dewey, and Louie just have wheels? Like they are on this amazing space station with these robots that have amazing features but they have to waddle around on ridiculous tiny legs. Just give them wheels.

shareThe robots in Silent Running have an incredible amount of heart and soul for such a utilitarian design.
Many devices are used to inject them with life and character and the waddling legs are part of it.
Would have been fairly sterile with just wheels I would think.
Beyond that having feet may have served better as magnetic couplings for transversing the exterior of the space ship although Louie may not agree:)
I don't understand how this qualifies as a tech(nical?) flaw in a science fiction film. Android robots retro-fitted into a human environment is hardly a novel concept in this genre.
shareThe droids had to work on the exterior of the ship where they had purpose made walkways which required feet to grip onto.
