Last good hammer dracula movie
I don`t like that scars of dracula disregards taste the blood of dracula. The 4 previous films respect the continuity of events. At the end of taste the blood of dracula the count is trapped in a resanctified church; is overwhelmed by it`s holiness, falls on top of the alter and promptly decomposes and scars opens with a ridiculously oversized rubber bat (do they really run that big in europe?) regurgitating blood on the count`s ashes which are layed out in an open coffin exposed to a window high up the castle during a storm. You can`t reconcile any of that to the previous film. Another ill-thought out idea is the use of bats as a plot device in scars. Bats never really figured prominantly in any of hanmmer`s dracula movies. At least Chris Lee was finally given some appreciable dialogue with this one. This of course is the last good hammer dracula movie before those 2 horrible Alan Gibson travesties.
