comments from actors or crew about this movie?

I've been wondering for a long time if there has ever been an interview or something where an actor or crew person commented on making this movie? As far as I can tell after reading the filmographies of the people in the movie, most of them really never went too far. Nicky Henson looks to have been the busiest, the guy who plays Hinky became a stuntman, Mary Larkin was in some more stuff and then dissapeared basically. I bet psychomania is the "embarrassing" movie on their list but who knows maybe they dig it.

It really needs a commentary track just because it's so damn weird. I'm imaging it had to be featured in some cult magazines over time.

The only thing I have heard is that Nicky Henson (Tom) said that the actor who played Shadwell (can't remember his name off hand) committed suicide after seeing the movie on television. Is there any truth to this or anyone know where it came from? Inspirational!!

Nicky Henson is alive and well - and was last seen in Eastenders!

He was hot back then, in my humble opinion. He turned up in that Goldie Hawn/Peter Sellers flick 'There's a Girl in My Soup' the following year as Hawn's boyfriend, and seems to have cropped up in much great and not-so-great British fare ever since.
Bezza Reid and George Sanders of course, were just a couple of ageing legends doing the horror route for the rent, poor buggers.

Nicky Henson (Tom Latham) has disliked the movie ever since he appeared in it. He has said that every time he has appeared in something respectable, Psychomania would turn up on late-night television and ruin whatever shred of respectablity he had just gained.

George Sanders (Shawell) killed himself with an overdose of his medication. It is a myth that he did so after watching Psychomania.

Beryl Reid (Mrs Latham) appeared in several horror-type movies in the early seventies (including the Tygon movie The Beast In The Cellar), in a period she described in her autobiography as her "silly period".

Hope this information is of use - Psychomania is something of a passion and an obssession of ours.

Cheers!

Just watched a documentary on B-Movies where Nicky Henson said the film was *beep* and he was ashamed of it.

The new Severin DVD release has an interesting 25-minute documentary, "Return of the Living Dead", which features interview footage of Nicky Henson, Mary Larkin, and other castmembers. Henson seems goodnaturedly baffled by the film's longevity but not particularly put off by it.

There is a brilliant interview with Nicky Henson in the latest issue of The Dark side about this film.
He doesn't think much of it, was paid a pittance to do it and all the humuor is unintentional.
He got the part offered to him as he was a biker and that the British film industry was on its knees at this time. The films of the swining 60's had gone, replaced by B movie fodder such as this or the Confessions films.
But he did enjoy his time on the film, they were just young actors having a laugh on and off the set.
