shareshe is not alone. I am probably one of the very few in the world too who goes to bed very very late( average may be 2 am). it did not matter whether i am working or not working. As a dreamer the magic of night offers solace for my failures!
shareShe might have been a freelance writer and got to make her own hours. After all, she did say that she was great at poetry and knew every poem by heart. That tells me she was likely an English major in college.
I don't think the people living in Carmel, especially at that time, worked regular 9 to 5 jobs. Like Dave who works nights and Tobie who is an artist, I'm guessing most of the residents work off hours and spend the rest of the time surfing and enjoying a laid-back, California lifestyle.
