Why didn't Kitty Winn get as famous as Pacino?
She gave a good, strong performance. I know she looked very Upper-Middle Class, but that face--made me wonder what made her tick. The scene with the dog really got me.

shareHer work on this was very well received - she won the Best Actress award at that year's Cannes festival. But she had been and remained a New York stage actress. She was interviewed on radio(WNYC's Leonard Lopate show, I think, but I can't find the podcast on his website) a couple of weeks ago and she said she much preferred the way stage players work, in particular the much more extensive rehearsal time available. I still wonder as you do why she didn't get more film work anyway, because given the right director she could have shone.

She wasn't in The Godfather.

Maybe it was a personal choice not to get heavily into film acting.
shareKitty Winn should have played Kay in The Godfather. Nothing against Diane Keaton, of course.
Dude means nice guy. Dude means a regular sort of person.
