shareNo, you are thinking of another Barbara Parkins movie released around the same time called "A Taste of Evil." It also starred Barbara Stanwyck.

shareThe Mephisto Waltz was.....
1. The only theatrical feature film produced by Quinn Martin productions and 20th Century Fox. Released in mid-1971. Quinn Martin served as executive producer here along with direction by the underrated Paul Wendkos and producer Phillip Saltzman.
2. You have two of the hottest chicks in one picture...Barbara Parkins(of Peyton Place fame)and Jacqueline Bisset. Also featured in German actor Curt Jergens and also Alan Alda(who starred in this cult thriller a year before his start on the M*A*S*H television series).
3. The eerie musical score from composer Jerry Goldsmith.
4. The only theatrical feature produced by Quinn Martin to be rated "R" by the MPAA for scenes of violence, female nudity(yes,Parkins is totally nude!!),satanic practices and explicit language...something that was totally out of the norm during the early 1970's.

Not really so out of the norm for that period considering the popularity of satanic storylines after Rosemary'd Baby. In fact, a bit of a cash-in on that film.
