Do you think there is any possible way of stirring up enough support to get this film re-released in the uk? I am 21 but have been brought up loving this film by my nan who had it on vhs. There are so many people who haven't been touched by this film and it is so perfectly london! Do you think there is any way of doing this? It's a UK masterpiece!
shareI doubt that Melody will ever be re-released in the U.K. Melody has been out of production for several years, in fact it hasn't been shown on TV since the '80s. The video and soundtrack are no longer available in the U.K. unless you are lucky to find it in any jumble sales, charity or rare record and video shops.
However, Melody has been re-released in Japan over the years because of its popularity. It's available in Japan and Argentina on DVD. The soundtrack is also available in the U.S. Melody has been appreciated more in foreign countries than in its original homeland. It is a shame, especially in recent years it has gained a cult following notably in the wake of Jack Wild's death.
