The movie Melody and Bee Gees was very popular in Hong Kong as far as I could remember it. When the movie premiered I was probably too young to be interested in the subject of "puppy love" as in the case of the leading actor Mark Lester. He stated in the Japanese TV Re-Union of Him and Tracy Hyde In 1999 that He was 12 and was interested in football(soccer) more than girls.
But I did remembered people were talking about how much it was a sell out. Later (perhaps a couple years later), I did went to see it and enjoyed very much. It left a very lasting impression of the imagines of Tracy Hyde ( the ballet scene) and the Sports Day scene with the Song "To Love Somebody" and the cemetery scene of "First Of May" (tho I didn't remembered it was the cemetery where they were dating but remembered the song "First of May" played in that scene)
Nevertheless, it was 30 plus years ago that I saw it and at the time I didn't know enough English to appreciate the movie that much ( I was relying the Chinese subtitles To understand the movie)
Fast forward to the present, I've been re-discovering the movie and this time with more understanding of the English Language and thus have a lot of going for me this time around. I am very much touched with the ballet scene and the conversation in the cemetery)
What particular, if any scene from youtube lead you to want more?
it was the scene from the latin lesson then with the headmaster that drew me to it i just thought it was typical a thing that a young boy would do. and the rejoining of mark lester and jack wild drew me the most because i am a huge fan of oliver!

I saw it in about 1975 aboard a US Navy ship while off the coast of Viet Nam. It kept a roomfull of rowdy sailors quiet throughout the movie, a very rare ocurrence.
shareThis is far out men!...
US Navy ship-ful of sailors.. An imagine of Macho and American
the other end of the extreme: Melody, a British film about puppy love
Did you enjoyed , how about the rest of the crews..?
I suppose we/men all have their 'ballet' moment in our lifes, is it not true?
I guess that's why Saigon fell to Viet Cong in that year :)
sharethank you so much. i'm really love this movie & bee gees.
