Melody's mother

How much is Kate Williams in this film, big or small part? Thanks.

It's several months since I have seen this excellent little film & whilst Melody's mother is not really a major character to the film's plot as such actress Kate Williams must be in the film as a whole say (very roughly) about 15-20 minutes? (but please do correct me if I am wrong of course!)
Two scenes immediately spring to mind where Kate Williams features & both of these last several minutes in themselves-
The first is where we are introduced to Melody's family (mother-father-gran-& Melody who has brought young Daniel with her) who are eating dinner around the kitchen table together-Great performance by Roy Kinnear too in that scene by the way!
And the second scene (again lasting several minutes) is Melody, gran & mum watching television together with the two older women growing increasingly concerned that Melody has been molested by some pervert in the cemetary (which she hasn't by the way).
Hope that helps you!

Hi, thanks!! That helps, just wanted to know a bit before I got it, I like her in the "Love Thy Neighbour" series, great underrated actress. :)

You are very welcome-Hope I have not spoilt the film too much for you by the way!
It is a great little film admittedly that is well worth seeking out-I bought my Region 0 DVD from Ebay very reasonably priced & which plays with no problems either.
If you like Kate Williams then also do check her out in 1967's "Poor Cow" (which was her movie debut) where she plays a barmaid & yes unfortunately I am old enough to remember her in "Love Thy Neighbour" too in the early 70's..........
Enjoy "Melody" & be sure to tell us what you think of it too!

The last part was when Melody Cries To Her Father After Been Soap and Wet From Sitting in the Rainly Cemetry with Daniel after being pick on by classmates during the day.

Watched "Poor Cow" recently, an interesting time piece, a cool look back it time. Sad about Carol White. I'm from 1966 so I remember those weird high hairdos women had. :)

Finally saw it the other day, and loved it, a very lovely film. I particularly liked how they portrayed Melody's reluctance at first, she didn't just rush in and fall for him right away. A modern film wouldn't have invested so much time, here they took the time so it's that much more realistic for it and you feel this as an audience. This film isn't just entertainment. I also liked Kinnear as the dad, it was a touching table scene. In fact, I've made a little "Melody" video on YouTube, featuring a song fittingly called 'Melody'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVslgWZ4aj8
