Missing filming location

St Mary's Church, Battersea, London, England, UK.

It was the place at the begining when the band gathered and listened to the lecture of their teacher. I spoted it while i was watching 'Alfie' of 1966 by Michael Caine, Shelley Winters. When in the church view, Gilda, Humphrey and the little baby were in this church. While they finished and got out of the church, i found something deja-vu, that's right. From the white structure of the house, i remember seeing it in Melody of 1971. I checked again in Google and placed a correct placemark in the church (cos the original one was wrongly placed, i think).

(Check the 'satellite' version, and enlarge it to see clearly in google map)

I checked the picture of the church with Melody movie and confirmed they are the same church on the same location.

It has been confirmed by St. Mary's Battersea C of E, that both Alfie and Melody were filmed at the location.

Btw, i want to know what's the circular cage structure in this page at

I can see them in both Alfie(at the beginning of kissing scene in the car), and Melody (near the playground).

I wonder if The Sleeping Tiger was filmed in the same area (1954 film by Joseph Losey, starring Dirk Bogarde). I remember seeing a very similar-looking church, and thought it looked like St James, Piccadilly, but it evidently wasn't.
