When Danny walks away from Ornshaw to go with Melody, I don't get it. Why is he walking away? And also, why is Ornshaw so desperate for him not to be with Melody?

It has been awhile since I saw Melody I don't think he
wanted to lose his best friend to her. Melody is one
of my favorite movies the first time I saw it was on
a plane going from Honolulu to Los Angeles it sure did
make the time pass on the long flight.

In response to your question why Danny walk away from Ornshaw and to Melody, it is that love wins over friendship. He has to chose between a girl whom he admires or a friend whom he hangs out. He chooses love over friend. It is like should I hang out with my buddies at the bar or should I go out on a date with my girl. Which would you choose

By The Way, Daniel or Mark was trying to act out the fact that he still felt the pain from the 'Hiding'

It was Daniel, but he wasn't acting that he still felt the pain, he really did feel it, because the teacher found the padding he'd placed down his trousers and removed it!

There comes a time when you have to choose. To love or be loved. Danny chose what his young heart tells him. To love somebody.

By the way, I watch this movie almost every night before i go to bed.
