Bree's Audition

It has been a thousand years since I've seen this, but I do remember a scene where Bree is auditioning for a play...she does a bit of monologue in what I remember as an Irish brogue. The director says "Thank you, interesting accent." Does anyone know what play her monologue is from or if it's just something made up for the movie? It's been driving me crazy for years.

I believe it's from O'Neill's Moon for the Misbegotten.

This is not a psychotic episode. This is a cleansing moment of clarity.

Is it? I thought it was something from O'Casey, but wasn't sure. I'd love to see her do some O'Neill now, like "Long Day's Journey".

Nope and nope. I googled a pice of the scene (I've seen this movie way too many times) and it's from "Saint Joan" by George Bernard Shaw. She's speaking the character of Joan of Arc. Interesting choice.

Thank you Kathryn! I was thinking St. Joan at one time, but then I thought, yeah, it could be something else. I hadn't seen it in years. Thank you for showing us the way!
