When she went back to Roy Scheider's character(who was a "Narcotics user"(LOL) ) and came back sick??Then Sutherland stays at her apt while she's sick...And then after a while she's well...he says to her w/Surprise upon arriving at her apt-"Oh you're out of bed"Seemingly to imply she'd been bed-ridden for a while-All of this after visiting her junky friend/prostitute and then running away from sutherland in his car to meet Scheider in the club??

But they never actually say whetg=her or not she was using Heroin or not??

I got the impression she was strung out even though she'd only used with her pimp the one time. A little off on the dynamics of the drug but I think it was the film's intention to show her at home in that world, as well as an opportunity for Klute to show real care and concern and stand by her when she was 'ugly' as she described herself to her psychiatrist.

Why wish for the moon when we can have the stars?
