Right level of creep

Creepy films are like microbrews in that they have to be excellent to be worthwhile. Klute is just that sort of creepy film: the tour through the Manhattan underworld, the rummaging through the Jane Doe Polaroids at the police station. I especially like the credit sequence: the eery xylophone or vibrophone and the stark lettering against the Nixon era tape recorder; just the right amount of creep.

I came here looking to see if someone else was as impressed with Michael Small's musical arrangement of that sequence as I was.

Happy to oblige ALIEN. If you want to see another good creepy title sequence from that same year, watch THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN!

Gil Melle'. Yes, I love his work, too. Lost both guys too soon.
