...... became of Bree. To me its clear at the end of the movie that she wont be going to pennsylvania with Klute. It seems unfortunate that Bree may continue on a downward spiral. Her life seems to be a mass of contradicitions and this is not easily resolved at the end of the movie. My theory is that she would try to get out of The Life, but continue to be very unhappy and would always look back on this particular chapter of her life with some regret that she didnt cease a moment, however much she realises that a life with Klute would not be a life that she could have lived authentically.

Was wonering what anyone else thought?

Why is it clear that Bree won't go with Klute? It seems quite an ambiguous ending to me. It seems pretty clear at the end she's leaving her apartment, and she walks out the door with Klute...

Your right LOGAN5, the ending is slightly ambiguous, but in Bree's voiveover she says that she's getting out of the city and that she couldnt see a life with Klute. I think that they were ultimately very differant people and were both aware of this..... My impression anyway was that she didnt leave with him.

I thought the same but the Wikipedia plot summary says she does leave with him.

What was so crummy about her apartment? I thought it was pretty nice with the hardwood floors and fireplace and skylight.
