Charles Cioffi
Should have been nominated for best supporting actor and probably won it, too. One of the most thoroughly believable, complex portrayals of a man completely lost his mental and moral bearings and yet able to intelligently articulate his sickness in a way that totally makes sense and feels authentic, looking at it in such a twisted way. In his final scene with Fonda, Cioffi is chillingly fantastic. "There are little corners in everyone which are better left alone..." Indeed.
