George C. Scott at his best

I think this performance was better
than his performance in "Patton".
Incredible script too.
One of my all time favorites....

Definately THE GREATEST male performance EVER......next to Pacino's in 'Dog Day'

Judith Crist, the movie critic from TV Guide thirty some years ago, said that this was Scott's best performance. I agree.

Like you, I prefer Scott's performance in The Hospital to Patton. I have to also mention Diana Rigg, who was excellent as well.

In this movie, Scott makes me laugh...hard. Harder than that number with Kubrick.

this performance and his "hardcore" performance are my favorites. great actor.

Scott was a fabulous actor.

Agreed.I actually prefered his performance in "The Hustler",though a supporting role, over "Patton".

Absolutely. His presence in the movie instantly brought a dark gravitas to the movie. Just a look at his hardened face told you his character was carrying pain and frustration and despair on his shoulders for years. He was so darkly comical, with his deadpan delivery of lines.

This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.
