Drummond explains that between the time he made Nurse Campanella unconscious and the time he snuck her into surgery that he stashed her in X-Ray where an unconscious body would not look unusual. Is there a joke here? Why would an unattended body look normal in X-ray as opposed to other parts of the hospital?
I understand this may have to do with 1971 medicine.

This happen to me. I was lying there for what seem like forever and the staff would just walk by and wouldn't even notice me. Finally I ask somebody about my orderly who was checking out getting me x-ray. Well, I must have scared the hell out of this guy, cause he jumped back like 5 feet. I guess no one ever asked him a question before while waiting to get a x-ray. This was in '79, I don't know if theY amped up procedures since then, but being in a hospital was just like being in THE HOSPITAL back then.
