My review on the movie.
Harold's mother is rather controlling over Harold's life and as a result Harold has felt isolated and unloved. No one in Harold's life really understands Harold and it is for this reason that Harold looks forward to death. Death is a sad sad thing indeed but to Harold it's more of an invitation to peace. On an average you can find Harold at funerals of complete strangers, it's really the only thing he take joy in other than his silly theatrical suicide antics. One day at a funeral Harold comes encounter with an older women by the name of Maude. Maude at first comes off as a batty old women with a warped perception on things but it's soon made obvious that she simply lives life to the fullest and has no intent on letting anyone change that. With the help of Maude Harold is able to break free from his self kept sheltered shell and he too sets out to make the best of this thing called life that we all must endure.
This movie is simply marvelous and is a must watch. Don't watch it necessarily to find confinement in something but to see and understand that not only is there someone out there for all of us but to learn that you've gotta' grab hold of life to truly live it.
