Going Home (1971) Robert Mitchum
Where can I get a copy of this movie?
sharei am also looking for a copy of this movie, does anyone know how to get one?
shareI'll be the third to ask it...where can I get a copy?
shareThis one doesn't even show up on ebay. How do films just disappear without trace, especially with an actor like Robert Mitchum?
shareor shown on tv!?! i've been checking for over a year for it to play and it was on only once on a remote Southern version of the Turner cable network and i couldn't find anyone who got it and no response from their site! this is exasperating! anybody have any ideas?
shareI'm going to try and request it from MGM, they are usually pretty good about releasing older films on DVD's - although the extras are slim.
shareGood Luck, Oliver-50. If more signatures would help, let the board know. I'll join any effort to get attention to these neglected movies of Robert Mitchum. For goodness sake! The least worthy of his films, "Matilda" has had a DVD release.

Definitey want to find a copy of this movie. !!!
shareI understand this film is coming out on DVD soon. Yes!!!
shareGreat movie. But why do I think it was abn ABC movie-of-the-week made for TV and not a theatrical release?
shareWhat the hell? Why can't MGM release this? It has Robert F-ing Mitchum and Jan-Michael Vincent for god's sake!
What is wrong with them?
Actually,if they put this out I will forever be indebted to MGM
Well I think they are hearing you because aparently it is slated to come out but I think letting them know you want it would help. For everyone who speaks out they figure there are several hundred that dont. So shout it from the mountains!
I saw "Going Home" in a theater not more than a mile from where a great portion of the film was shot. It definitely was a theatrical release. The trailer park scenes were filmed in East McKeesport, PA, not too far from Monroeville, Pa where George Romero would later film "Dawn of the Dead."

REALLY?? How do you know? are you sure?? tell us more!!
I'm dying to see this one.
I saw this movie many years ago on TV. I'd like to see it again. I wish the cable TV channels would begin showing it occasionally. The dynamics of the interactions between Jan Michael Vincent, Robert Mitchum, and Brenda Vaccaro are subtle and interesting. There's something going on subconciously that isn't apparent at first. I'd really like to see the film again.
shareThis movie is scheduled to be broadcast on Turner Classic Movie channel on March 27, 2012 late night. This film is not out on video so now is your chance to see it. Please spread the word to anyone who might be interested. I have wanted to see this film for a long time so now is our chance. BTW, I feel that part of the reason TCM is broadcasting this relates to my request to TCM to show it. Did you know that you can go to TCM web site and request certain titles be broadcast? I have done this with many titles that are not out on video and often, after about a 3-5 month wait the title is broadcast. So, please remember this. In any event be prepared to watch it in late March of 2012 on TCM.
shareKultflixxx.org advertises a DVR of it. I haven't purchased it yet so I can't attest to the quality.
I know who I am! I'm the dude playing a dude disguised as another dude!
This movie is going to be broadcast on Turner Classic Movie Channel on late night of March 26 or March 27, 2012. It is not out on video so here is your chance to see it.
shareThis movie is scheduled for broadcast on Turner Classic Movie channel on either late night of March 26 or late night March 27, 2012. It has never been released on video so if you want to see it then mark your calendars.
shareIt's running right now! So far I'm not impressed.
shareTurned it off and finished it this morning. Had some potential but it's pretty chopped up. Some of the situations are interesting but there are moments of bad dialogue and bad acting. Some of the scenes I couldn't figure out. I know what happens in the chicken house but they spend enough time leading into it, close-ups of chickens, he gets bit, what was that all about?
The soundtrack. Music was dated and I could put up with that but other than the melody how did the words relate to the movie and the scene it was playing over?
I could only give it a 5/10, not worth watching unless you are a Mitchum fan or something.
To late now
It's on TCM right now
Don't remember it back in the 70s
1st time I've seen it and not impressed
It's on DVD from Warner Archive:
