Yikes. All I can think of when I hear that name is "huddled masses, yearning to be free." Not an attractive image for a name. Couldn't they have picked some other name, any other name that didn't sound quite so awful?

I've lived in a Jewish community all my life. Chava is a popular name, but until last month I had never heard of a girl named Tzeitel or Hodel. After 53 years, I finally heard of someone named Tzeitel, but Hodel is still a 0. Perhaps those names were popular in the Jewish community a century ago.
