An uncut version of this film is being blocked just to prove "they" still have the clout to do it.

Based on the content of the film (sex, violence) this film has long since lost it's crown as "the bloodiest, the nastiest, the most violent" to newer and much more "bloody, nasty and violent" films in the nearly half century (yes, it's really been that long!) that has elapsed since the film's release. Actually, there were films even at the time (Soldier Blue and A Clockwork Orange) which had more extreme content that are easily available in uncut form. The only conclusion we can come to is that an uncut version of this film is being withheld for purely political reasons.

I found the lost scenes somewhere online and edited them into an MKV file of the full movie at the correct locations. A little bit lower picture quality but what can you do?

Who is blocking it? Isn't it available for streaming on Shudder? If that isn't actually the complete version, then it's far more likely that "they" just don't see enough potential for profit in such a release, considering costs such as licensing, restoring and cleaning up cut scenes, etc., etc.. When it comes right down to it, the movie industry is about money, the bottom line.

Soldier Blue is not at all “easily available” in uncut form. The original cut submitted to the MPAA was threatened with an X rating — many frames were trimmed just to get the “R” (later further trimmed to “PG”). That original cut, as far as I know, has never been released.
