Rated too low

This has always been a favorite of mine and a hidden gem. I can't understand the low rating. I put this on a par with Network as a perceptive look at America.

Just watched it tonight. WAY too low.

I've always thought of "Cold Turkey" as a tasty slice of life that goes well alongside "Nashville" and "Smile," but I'd definitely be receptive to seeing this film alongside "Network."

Definitely too low....

Problem is most people can't appreciate the message and humor this movie portrays.

But - as much as I like Cold Turkey, Network is on a different level

Absolute! --Agree, adored this movie, & the great sacrifice Poston's character (later George Utley) makes for the town since he can't quit smoking because he can't quit drinkin'! Haha...

Real flubbery slice of Americana along with ones like Ghost & Mr. Chicken, and the like!

I gave it a nine. A large chunk of people just don't understand satire.

I think the movie is actually overrated. I like a good satire as much as anyone else, but it should be funny, or at least interesting. This movie wasn't anything. People coughing up phlegm, almost all the characters were unlikeable, crazy "Little Old Lady from Pasadena" blasting everyone in the end....it sucked.

Most people have never heard of this film, and most never will, because it simply isn't good. What a waste of a great cast.

It's a very cynical and pessimistic comedy attacking religion, capitalist industry, the military and so forth.
