What kind of job did the Minister offer Alex?

After seeing this film for the very first time at a Cinepolis theater last night, I was trying to imagine what type of job it could possibly be for someone like Alex. Any ideas?

Police like the other droogs perhaps? Yes!?

reply

I'm not sure but in the 21st chapter of the book adult Alex worked at a record store.
Since he loved music it was a good fit.

reply

Yeah but that was the book, the movie implies it'll be some government/ blue colar (if that's the word) job.

I would imagine it was some kind of junior political position in the Minister's bureaucratic entourage. Something where they could keep a close eye on him, and possibly groom him for a future in politics. He seems like he'd make a fantastic politician for a corrupt party, if he could achieve a modicum of self restraint in the future.

reply

So you need a modicum of restraint to be successful in politics? We'll find out.

reply

The job needn't include anything other than staying quiet, and smiling for the cameras, when asked.
