The whole thing felt like an tactless expression of "look how extreme this is, look at how progressive I am by showing such violet themes!"
Too obvious, lacking in subtly or even purpose beyond that of trying to be extreme. Malcolm McDowell's manic grin is not filmmaking, nor is holding up a camera while people commit wanton depravities.
You must be confusing Kubrick with Hostel or Saw movies..move on. To just broad brush criticize Kubrick shows your lack of intelligence or desire to learn and understand.
Pretty standard post right here. If you don't like his movies you simply lack the understanding. What a crock of *beep* This movie isn't very good based on the principles of filmmaking alone. It's a violent story with very little redeeming qualities. Boring too.
shareFirst of all the violence is far from the main point of the movie the point of the violence is to help demonstrate the moral point of the movie. Second of all the violence shown in this movie is not at all out of the ordinary as most people say it is, the reason it is found to be repulsive is not the content shown onscreen, but rather the tone that it is presented makes the audience feel uncomfortable about it, because with the rape scene for example it is presented almost in a joking manner like, "oh well she got raped" rather than in the typical cinematic style of presenting rape with sinister music and many cuts to make the rape seem horrible. Also how can u say Alex's smile is not good filmmaking? I know that alone does not make a good film, but it was a fantastic way they conveyed his mind without having to use any words to directly state it.
shareYeah well the rape scene is pretty much what resonates with me. The deeper meaning or whatever honestly I really don't give a *beep*. It's a violent, and quite frankly stupid movie in my opinion. Most of my friends are film buffs and they really don't like anything this director has made. And no I don't think that makes us stupid as a result.

shareYou sound really stupid and I guess you just didnt u derstand the themes. Im not going to explain it to you because youre not worth my time. Maybe you shut it off halfway through becuz it got too intense for you. Not sure but you are definately in the minority.
