Billy Jack 1971 and Billy Jack 2004

I just got thru watching all 4 of the Billy Jack films, I know a lot of critics are down on the films for the contradicting peace by means of violence, but characters relate to each other in the films in an ad lib fashion, such as real life, what would be called bad acting is more or less the way the characters relate to each other, the films have a script, but as Tom Laughlin points out with his wife Delores on the commentary tracks, the script is more like a guideline, the rest he states comes from inside spontaneous and raw......Now there is a rumor on the net about a possible remake with Keanu Reeves in the title role, just like there is a remake for Walking Tall in the process with the ROCK considered for the title role.....any comments would be welcomed.....and just 3 more days till DIOE ANOTHER DAY and SERGIO LEONE'S ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST....THANKS

My guess is that they will do a remake. Heck, they remake *everything* nowadays, even rides at Disneyland!

Does anyone out there know where the first Billy Jack (1971) movie was filmed? It must be a small town in New Mexico somewhere... or it could be Arizona, I suppose. I would really like to know the name of the town where they made that movie!

Any help would be appreciated.

Happy Holidays.

Now that you've called me by name....I believe mostly near the Navaho cliffs and reservations bear Moab Utah, a few interior shots near Big Sur California, several exterior on the Utah-Arizona border not far from Monument Valley.....a remake is inevitable, but still....Billy Jack 1971 is the one and only.....one tin soldier rides away....Happy Holidays

Thanks for the response.

I am really just interested in knowing the town which was used, where the ice cream parlor and park (with the fight scene) was. I assume this was all done in the same town??

Of course, the inside shots for the "freedom school" could have been filmed anywhere.

Happy New Year.
