I noticed Tom Laughlin, the uber-liberal power to the people man, is selling the "Authentic Billy Jack Hat" on billyjack.com for $585.00 + $75.00 shipping.
It seems he's been infected with a disease called Capitalism.
These hats go for about that much everywhere. Considering this is THE hat, that's not a bad deal. And considering the proceeds go to a good cause, even better.
I sent this query to Tom Laughlin via his web-site yesterday evening; I'll be shocked if there's a response, but I'll post it here if there is.
Mr. Laughlin,
As a long-time Billy Jack fan I was delighted to see that finally there was a way for me to own a replica of the famous "Billy Jack" hat, but when I saw the price of nearly $600(!) I was shocked to say the least. I'm sure that just like myself there are MANY long-time fans who would LOVE to own such a hat but can't due to the price.
Surely there must be a way to make this wonderful piece of history more affordable so that ordinary folks like me could own one. I've owned a few cowboy hats in my almost 50 years, even the high-end Resistol brand, and never paid more than $200 for the best of them.
Surely the hat can't cost THAT much, can it? It seems as though the only people who can afford one are the very people that Billy Jack opposes.lol
Please let me know.
Best Regards from a fan, xxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxx, FL

Not a peep so far from the "witchsmeller persuivant" of the people. He's probably out saving the world from racists and bigots.
He might also be helping people interpret their dreams or curing cancer through psychology. That and even more quackery is talked about at billyjack.com.
Next, he'll have a "system" for winning in Vegas or losing weight.

The ideas espoused about the psychological reasons behind cancer on that page are actually espoused by a large number in the medical profession these days. Keep up.
