John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara and Richard Boone were great!
The rest of the cast was excellent too but I always felt that those three should have received oscar nominations. I can't argue with the winners (Gene Hackman in The French Connection, Ben Johnson and Cloris Leachman in The Last Picture Show) but I think all three should have got nominated.
John Wayne was fantastic and he was just as great as he was as Rooster Cogburn in True Grit which won him the oscar that was well deserved. I felt he should have got best actor nomination.
Richard Boone was great as the leader of the outlaws and should have got nominatef for best supporting actor for a fantastic job.
Maureen O'Hara should have got best supporting actress nomination. I know she was only in the movie about twenty minutes but they were an important 20 minutes and she was great in them. Plus her character was a big influence over the whole movie.
Well done John, Richard and Maureen as well as the rest of the cast!
